Caledonia Trail · Elk Ridge-Fire Place-Custer

Our family group of 7 adults and 3 children (3-11 years) had a wonderful 7 day stay at this very nice Black Hills home. Positive: This is a clean, modern, well laid out home with large open common space but also get away areas inside and outside for as large group gathering. As there are no other t homes within viewing distance, it provides privacy with a pole yard area for children and adults to play outside. The downstairs game room and the hot tub were a great plus. The hosts respond quickly to any requests or questions. Negative: There is no AC so on hot days and nights it could be a bit uncomfortable. The many ceiling and floor fans around the house can help. There is also no cell service in the entire area but some calls can be made using the house’s WiFi service.

Stayed for a week in May 2025. Lovely house and location. House was well supplied with the little things, such as dish soap, trash bags, coffee, paper towels, toilet paper, shampoo, etc., so it was nice not to need to buy such basics at the local grocery store. House was very clean and comfortable. Location is in a forested area a few miles outside the small city of Custer, centrally located near all the major attractions in the Black Hills area. Plenty of good choices in Custer for dinner each evening added to the overall good experience staying here.

Great location to visit Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, the Badlands, Custer State Park and more!
